PEBL Partners Christine, Lian, and Sean along with a superb team of local volunteers, ran another fantastic community event at Moor Rd Park on Sunday 25 June. PEBL’s youth lead, Alayne, assisted by fellow PEBL partnership members Chris and Maureen, also coordinated taster sessions that included children’s cycling, cricket, tennis, rugby and street dance, for the younger members of our Community so they too could come together and enjoy Moorfest’s Community fun.

Around 800 people visited the array of 30 gazebos hosted by different community groups. There was live entertainment on the stage, volunteers handed out leaflets and information, sold a ton of books, others sold plants, jewellery and cakes! Kids enjoyed the sports activities plus the bouncy castle etc. There were lots of tasty things to eat from burgers to Nepalese food and ice cream.

The sun shone all day and it was a scorcher! Thanks to Jules special recipe, there was enough iced coffee in the PEBL tent to keep the community cool, refreshed and energised. PEBL Partners Christine and Clive chatted to residents about local needs and PEBL’s newest partner, Bill got over 100 signatures to save our lollipop ladies! On top of all this fun, £160 was collected in donations with more still to come from Rotary.

A BIG PEBL thank you to all our PEBL, MCP and other Partners who helped to make this such a memorable community event, from those setting up early in the morning, making it all happen, to breaking it all down at the end of the day.
