MCP (Mayfield Community Partnership) Sports day
Who would have thought fresh fruit could be so tasty and so much fun? Bringing along copious amounts of fruit, yoghurt, a little honey and a bicycle powered smoothie maker, delicious free fresh smoothies were given to all who were prepared to pedal for them… (and we even did the pedalling for some!)
Many came back for ‘seconds’ and even ‘third helpings. It was great to see children (and some adults!) choosing and enjoying healthier eating options!
PEBL was very happy to support the MCP Sports day with the PEBL Smoothie bike and would like to encourage all to continue enjoying delicious fresh fruit smoothies.
If you didn’t make it on the day or did and want a delicious smoothie here’s the recipe of our most popular PEBL smoothie on the day. It went down a storm!
- 1 banana
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- A swirl of squeezable honey
In a blender, combine bananas, berries, orange juice and yogurt. Don’t forget the honey and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve. Simples!
Feel free to get adventurous, add whatever fruit catches your eye, chop and change ingredients until you make YOUR perfect smoothie and enjoy! We did with peaches and red and green seedless grapes. We also swapped orange juice for apple juice and they were ‘smoothilcious’ and enjoyed by all.
