The first ever Prospect Estate Big Local (PEBL) table tennis tournament took place on Wednesday 19th August.

This was to celebrate the installation of a new permanent outdoor table tennis table. Rushmoor Borough Council Youth Worker, Anil Thapa enthusiastically recruited players and it was a great success with around a dozen young people taking part and others spectating. It was a team effort with Farnborough Lawn Tennis Club being the referees, the Friday Night Youth Club supplying bats and Creating Futures providing balls.

At the end, Barry Sexton, PEBL Chair presented prizes of new sets of bats and balls to the winners in each category. Thanks to Heather Chalkley from First Wessex for making it all happen!

PEBL Young People were the motivation behind raising funds to install the new, permanent outdoor table tennis table. The young people believe that table tennis is for all people, not just the young. With this in mind we hope that lots of people will take up the opportunity to use the table in the future.
